Organización espacial en el piedemonte amazónico colombiano: elemento clave para la cohesión nacional y el desarrollo regional.

    En este documento se describe y analiza la orgaruzación espacial del piedemonte amazóruco. El documento hace énfasis en cómo esa organización es producto de unas relaciones de dependencia enlre la región y el interior del país, pero también se plantea la tesis de la particularidad del patrón de asentamiento piemontano, como un reflejo (económico, político y social) de la organización espacial de los dos valles interandinos Cauca y ?\fagdalena. En el documento se contextualiza el sistema urbano piemontano respecto a los sistemas urbanos regionales, identificando las relaciones asimétricas de intercambio y de dependencia política y fiscal, como elementos explicativos de la organización espacial.

    Luego el análisis se centra en la red de asentamientos piedemontano como sistema urbano, enfatizando en las relaciones de intercambio entre la región y el centro del país; así como en la morfología regional de la red, incluyendo la dinámica expresada en la movilidad de mercancías e individuos.

    This paper describes and analízes the space organization of the amazon foothills, emphazising the way in which that organization is product of sorne dependence relationships between rhe regíon and (he interior of the country. At the sarne time ir brings up the peculiarity of the settlement partern in the foothills as a result of the spacial organization of rhe two maio ioterandean valleys, the t-.1agdalena and Cauca. The paper introduces the contextualízat:i.on of the urban system in the foothills regardin the regional urban systems, identifying the asymmetric relationships of exchange and of polítical and fiscal dependence, as explanatory elements of the space organization. Then the analysis is centered in the net of settlements along the foothills as urban system, emphasizing the exchange relationships between the region and the center of the country, as well as in the regional morphQlogy of the oet, including the dynamics expressed in the mobility of goods and individuals.
