Resumen de Il Système di Régis e le sue immagini tra nuova filosofia e censura
In the late seventeenth century Cartesianism undergoes a crucial turn: some scholars in France as well as in the Netherlands try to diffuse Descartes' thought among a wider audience by presenting his philosophy in a systematic way. One of the most relevant contribution in this field is Pierre Sylvain Regis' Système. I intend in this article to follow the external history of this work, by analysing the different editions, whose the first was delayed by the intervention of ecclesiastical as well as royal censorship. In the scientific section of his Système Régis doesn't limit himself to propose a summary of Descartes' ideas: he draws on different sources, sometimes also implicitly, in order to show the effectiveness of Descartes' method and scientific achievements. I have located a great deal of them, with particular attention to the iconographic sources.
