    This paper aims to present some different views about metaphor and to show that they are result of the modifications in the way of understanding language and the human being. It also tries to prove that wrong views about the use of this linguistic resource are common.

    Este trabalho objetiva apresentar diferentes concepções sobre a metáfora e mostrar que estas resultam de modificações no modo de entender a linguagem e o ser humano. Busca também provar que ainda são comuns visões equivocadas sobre o uso desse recurso linguístico.
