El 17 de Junio de 1995 un incendio destruye la techumbre de la Nave de la Iglesia de San Francisco de Pontevedra y la práctica totalidad del Claustro. El arquitecto encargado de la obra explica los criterios seguidos en la recuperación de los elementos perdidos, basada en una construcción acorde con técnicas y expresiones actuales, que encuentre sin embargo, las claves de su composición en los trazos, la geometría y los ritmos marcados por las obras históricas de cantería

Rehabilitation of the cloister and nave of San Francisco Church in Pontevedra. On 17th June 1995 the roof of the nave and practically all the cloister of the Church of San Francisco in Pontevedra were destroyed by fire. The architect in charge of the restoration works explains the criteria followed in the recuperation of the missing elements and declares himself in favour of current techniques and trends, the keys of whose composition is to be found in the design, geometry and rhythm of historic stone buildings
