Resumen de Entre flores y telones: Una aproximación al texto femenino venezolano del siglo XIX

  Hasta hace relativamente poco tiempo, la labor teatral de las mujeres del siglo XIX en Venezuela era prácticamente desconocida; pero la actitud revisionista de los estudios literarios de los últimos tiempos la ha considerado como un tema de interés, ya que ésta es una faceta poco conocida dentro del devenir literario de las mujeres venezolanas.

  El liberalismo amarillo, liderado por Guzmán Blanco, permitió que las mujeres venezolanas de sectores sociales pudientes no sólo se dedicaran a las labores del hogar, sino que comenzaran a ejercer un papel preponderante en el ámbito cultural. Estas mujeres dirigieron �junto a muchas figuras masculinas� ateneos en ciudades de la provincia, editaron revistas y escribieron poesía, novelas y obras de teatro.

  Las piezas teatrales escritas por las mujeres no tuvieron gran difusión, como muchas de las obras del siglo XIX; aunque algunas fueron publicadas, la mayoría era representada dentro de pequeños círculos sociales, lo que convirtió la puesta en escena de estas obras en una práctica informal y privada que se limitaba a tertulias familiares u obras benéficas, lo que contribuyó el teatro femenino venezolano del siglo XIX, lejos de ser conocido, se perdiese en archivos y bibliotecas.

  Este trabajo pretende ser sólo un panorama de la producción teatral escrita por mujeres en el siglo XIX en Venezuela, como un aporte al estudio de las letras y de las artes escénicas, que apenas comienzan a ser estudiadas en el país.

  Until relatively little time ago, the theatrical work of the women of the XIX century in Venezuela was practically unknown; but the attitude revisionista of the literary studies of the last times has considered it as a topic of interest, since this is a not very well-known facet inside becoming literary of the Venezuelan women.

  The yellow liberalism, guided by Guzmán Blanco, allowed the Venezuelan women of rich social sectors to be devoted not only to the works of the home, but rather they began to exercise a preponderant paper in the cultural environment. These women directed -together to many masculine figures- athenaeums in cities of the county, published magazines and they wrote poetry, novels and plays.

  The theatrical pieces written by the women didn�t have great diffusion, as many of the works of the XIX century; although some were published, most was represented inside small social circles, what transformed the setting into scene of these works in an informal and private practice that was limited to family gatherings or charitable works, what contributed the theater feminine Venezuelan of the XIX century, far from being known, gets lost in files and libraries.

  This work only seeks to be a panorama of the theatrical production written by women in the XIX century in Venezuela, as a contribution to the study of the letters and of the scenic arts that you grieve they begin to be studied in the country.
