Resumen de Anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge in an anaerobic fixed bed digester

• The anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge in conventional reactors requires a hydraulic retention time of around 20 days. By using a fixed bed reactor the hydraulic retention time was reduced to 3–7 days. Recirculation increased the removal of organic matter in this system.
