El presente artículo replantea la actual delimitación conceptual de la recepción activa, utilizada por la educación para la recepción y la teoría de la recepción. Esta propuesta surge de los hallazgos empíricos del trabajo con dos grupos de niños de distintas clases sociales. Analiza la especificidad de la recepción activa infantil a partir de la naturaleza de los programas televisivos; se encuentra que la recepción se centra en dos esferas: la construcción de sentido denotativo y el simbólico.

The present article deals with the current conceptual delimitation of active reception used in educational settings for Media Literacy Education and Audience Research. In this essay the author discuses the empirical data obtained from the work with two research groups, formed to compare the level of specificity of children from different socioeconomic levels. The study analyzed the level of specificity of children�s active reception based on the nature of the content of TV programs. During the course of this research, the author found that children�s active reception focuses in two domains: the construction of denotative sense and symbolic sense.
