El artículo hace un recorrido a través de las maneras como se ha entendido la idea de verdad en los diferentes momentos históricos. Afirma que el hombre común no suele cuestionarse la realidad de su vida cotidiana ni tiene dudas acerca del isomorfismo entre el mundo real y su representación de éste. Suele vivir su sentido de la realidad como la única posible. Sin embargo, la historia de la ciencia nos permite evaluar las transformaciones profundas en el pensamiento humano, cambios en la forma de percibir el mundo y la realidad. Se trata de las �rupturas epistemológicas�, como lo denominara Gaston Bachelard, un punto en el que se marca un antes y un después en el conocimiento acerca del hombre, del mundo y, por supuesto, de las ideas de verdad y realidad.

This article draws how the idea of truth have been understood at different historical moments. It affirms that the common man usually does not question the reality of his daily life nor has doubts about the isomorphism between the real world and his representation of the reality. He usually lives his sense on the reality as the only possible reality. Nevertheless, the history of science allows us to evaluate the deep transformations in the human thought, and changes in the way of perceiving the world and the reality. It is about �epistemological ruptures�, as defined by Gaston Bachelard; that marks a �before� and �after� in the knowledge about the man, the world and, of course, the ideas of truth and reality.
