Conflicto educativo y cultura política en Colombia

    La intensidad y crecimiento de las manifestaciones de la violencia en Colombia parecen señalar que la edificación de un proyecto colectivo debe estar mediado por la creación de un orden institucional que sea capaz de saldar la gran deuda social existente en el país y que, a su vez, proporcione mecanismos eficaces para resolver las disputas sociales sin recurrir al aniquilamiento individual o colectivo como fórmula válida y legítima de regulación de la vida social. Así mismo, en este contexto se ha puesto en discusión el papel que la educación puede jugar en la creación y afianzamiento de un proyecto cultural democrático. En esta perspectiva, nos interesa abordar tres puntos específicos en el presente artículo. Primero, mostrar algunas características esenciales del conflicto en la cultura política colombiana. Segundo señalar a manera de esbozo el estado de la discusión en torno a las teorías del conflicto y observar la relación que existe entre la solución de los conflictos y la construcción de cultura democrática. Tercero, considerar el papel que puede jugar la educación en el proceso de construcción de un proyecto cultural democrático.

    The intensity and growth of manifestations of violence in Colombia appear to signal that the construction of a collective project should be mediated by the creation of an institutional order that is able to come to terms with the high social debt in the country and that at the same time, can provide effective mechanisms for solving social disputes way of regulation of social life. Likewise, in this context we a discussion is put forward about the role that education can play in the creation and establishment of a cultural democratic project. In this perspective, we approach three specific points in this article. First, to show some essential characteristics of conflict in Colombian political culture.

    Second, to sketch the outline of the state of the discussion around theories of conflict and to observe the relationship that exists between the solution of conflicts and the construction of democratic culture. Third, to consider the paper that education can play in the process of construction of a democratic cultural project.
