The existence of rock art (paintings and engravings) in the Greater Kabylia was for the first time found out back in 1965. In the majority of the 54 sites Libyco-Berber inscriptions are mixed with geometric and anthropomorphic sketches. The principal interest for these paintings and engravings of the Greater Kabylia is it to understand why they were produced at all. What and to whom do they want to communicate?
