    Este año se cumple el bicentenario de la Constitución de Cádiz (19 de marzo de 1812) que originó la España moderna, como Nación soberana y Estado liberal. Este artículo estudia la aportación que este importantísimo texto legal dio al penitenciarismo español y su evolución histórica desde aquella primera Constitución a la actual de 1978.

    This year is celebrating the bicentennial of the Constitution of Cadiz (March 19, 1812) that caused the modern Spain, as a sovereign nation and liberal state. This article examines the contribution that this important legal text gaves to the Spanish penitentiary system and its historical evolution since its first one to the present Constitution of 1978.
