Resumen de Advanced Legal Research Courses: A Survey of ABA-Accredited Law Schools

Ann Hemmens

  • With the increasing complexity of legal research skills required in the practice of law, the proliferation of research materials, and the apparent lack of skills of recent law school graduates, the advanced legal research course is an important part of the American law school curriculum. Using the results of a survey of ABA-accredited law schools, Ms. Hemmens analyzes whether the number of such courses has increased in recent years and whether there is uniformity in course structure and methodology. Variations based on the size of the student body, the number of professional law librarians, and law school ranking are addressed
