Con la intensión de difundir información relacionada al entendimiento de una enfermedad que está causando daños en las ganaderías europeas, se hace una revisión actualizada del recién descubierto Virus Schmallenberg, haciendo hincapié en su patogenia y en la progresión de la enfermedad; mediante la recopilación y el análisis de información se presentan conceptos sobre medidas terapéuticas actuales y futuras para el tratamiento y posibles medidas preventivas de la enfermedad.
