    Tomando como punto de partida la metodología de trabajo que se aplica en el Archivo Intermedio del municipio de Lisboa el artículo analiza las técnicas de gestión que se aplican en una serie esencial en la administración local, los expedientes de obras particulares. La singularidad de la solución que se aplica en el archivo lisboeta, que cuestiona la teoría de las tres edades y el records continuum, plantea nuevos interrogantes sobre el servicio y las funciones que tradicionalmente se han asociado a los archivos intermedios.

    Taking as a starting point the work methodology that is applied in the Records Centre in the Municipality of Lisbon, the article analyses the management techniques applied to an essential series in the municipality administration, the buildings process. The uniqueness of the solution applied in the Lisbon Archives, that questions the three ages theory and the records continuum, raises new questions about the service and functions that have traditionally been associated with the Records Centre.
