    La palabra ecfrasis ha sido empleada de una manera en la Antigüedad y de otra en la actualidad. El presente estudio centra su interés en ella desde una perspectiva histórica y teórica, mostrando su función en la relación entre imagen y palabra y entre arte y literatura.

    Se cotejan teorías, investigaciones y aplicaciones importantes, y se presentan algunas conclusiones sobre los problemas de la representación y la relación entre lenguaje verbal y no verbal vigentes en una teoría de la ecfrasis.

    The ekphrasis word has been used in a way in the past and in another way nowadays.

    This research focuses in this word from a historical and theoretical perspective, showing its role in the relationship between image and word and between art and literature. It compares some of the most important theories, researches and critical applications, and presents some conclusions about the problems of representation and the relationship between verbal and nonverbal language in force in a theory of ekphrasis.

    Le mot "ekphrasis" a été employé d'une manière dans l'Antiquité et d'une autre manière actuellement. Cette étude centre son intérêt dans ce mot depuis une perspective historique et théorique en montrant sa fonction dans la relation entre l'image et le mot et entre l'art et la littérature. On compare certaines théories, recherches et applications les plus importantes, et on présente quelques conclusions sur les problèmes de la représentation et de la relation entre le langage verbal et non verbal en vigueur dans une théorie de l'ekprhasis.
