El objetivo de este trabajo es investigar algunos de los conflictos surgidos en la Asistencia psiquiátrica en Rio de Janeiro a principios del siglo XX. Para ello hemos optado por analizar la vida cotidiana de dos importantes instituciones psiquiátricas de la ciudad de Rio de Janeiro: el Hospicio Nacional de Alienados y el Pabellón de Observaciones. Se trata de investigar la documentación médica y gubernamental disponible sobre dichas instituciones

This text intends to investigate some conflicts located in the Psychiatric Care in Rio de Janeiro, in the beginning of the XXth century. Therefore, we opted to analyze the daily life of two major psychiatric institutions in the city of Rio de Janeiro: National Mental Hospice and the Pavilion of Observations. We tried to investigate the medical and government documents available on these institutions.
