Resumen de Desenvolvimento local: o binómio turismo/áreas rurais nas estratégias de desenvolvimento local

O presente artigo centra-se em fornecer um momento de reflexão, em torno, do declínio das áreas rurais de baixa densidade que, resulta da perda da capacidade estratégica em termos de competitividade e de políticas de desenvolvimento local. O turismo surge como um instrumento ao relançar a dinâmica destes espaços rurais, através da criação de políticas de desenvolvimento que promovem os recursos locais e a diversificação das actividades rurais, capazes de inverter esta tendência negativa. Contudo, apesar da interligação e sinergia que existe entre a problemática do Desenvolvimento Local e o Turismo, é fundamental que o crescimento do sector turístico seja efectuado de forma sustentada.

The present article focuses on providing a moment of reflection around the decline of rural areas of low density. This fact results of loss of strategic capacity in terms of competitiveness and local development policies. Tourism emerges as an instrument to intensify the dynamics of rural areas through the creation of development policies promoting local resources and diversification or rural activities, able to reverse this negative trend. In despite of interlink and synergy that exist between the thematic of Local Development and Tourism, it is essential that the growth of the tourism would be carried out in a sustainable way.
