    Se revisa la evolución de la Mineralogía, durante los siglos XVI al XVIII, y su división en varias ciencias.

    Se consigna la etimología de estas voces, sus definiciones establecidas por técnicos españoles, las dadas en las diversas ediciones del Diccionario de la Real Academia Española, y la fecha de su aceptación por esta entidad.

    Se destaca el uso de la voz JHEOLOGOS en un Códice atribuido a Juanelo Turrientes, escrito en Toledo durante el último cuarto de siglo XVI. A los artífices competentes en los orígenes del agua, les da éste nombre en el Códice. De acuerdo con el Códice y la información actual, se deduce, que fueron los españoles, los primeros en usar la voz JHEOLOGOS en obras técnicas.

    We revised the evolution in the mineralogy's field during XVI-XVIII centuries, and its divisions in several sciencies.

    We consigned the etymology of these voices, its definitions established by spanish technicians, the ones given in the several issues of the Real Academia Española Dictionary, and the date of its approbation by this entity.

    We stand out the use of the voices JHEOLOGOS in a codex ascribed to Juanelo Turrientes, written in Toledo in the last quarter of the XVI century. The competents artificers in the water's origins were given this name in the codex.

    In accordance with the codex and with the present information, we deduce that the spaniards the first ones using the voices JHEOLOGOS in technical works.
