  Los pacientes con enfermedades mentales son personas por lo demás, y como tales merecen respeto y dignidad en su trato con los profesionales de la salud. Respeto, por ejemplo, para evitar su visión como simples �enfermos de�, para no despertar ni temor ni miedo, para ser valorados también en sus virtudes y habilidades, para ser tratados con cortesía y para ver respetados sus sentimientos. Sobre estos cinco ejemplos se hacen consideraciones que justifican la atención humana, científica y respetuosa tanto al paciente como a sus familiares.

  Patients with mental diseases are persons, apart from their illness. As persons they deserve respect and dignity in their relationship with health professionals. For example, respect no to be seeing as �patients of�, not to arouse fear, to highlight their virtues and skills, to be treated with courtesy and to respect their feelings. All these five examples are considered to justify a kind of care with patients and their relatives full of science, humanity and respect.
