Analysis of some impacts generated on contemporary society by the new practices and routines involving music games in which music is the central theme of the videogame (such as Guitar Hero, Sing Star, Rock Revolution and Rock Band). Starting from specialized literature on the subject (and related topics), from published data on the games industry, and taking into account discourses of professionals working in that industry, and of users, reported in journalistic accounts, it was sought to analyze how, in the last years, the production, the consumption and the brokerage involving these devices (such multimedia platforms) have had repercussions on musical and urban cultures.
