    The principal notion that our article tries to find out the real function of the characters in Nabile Fares� novel Yahia, pas de chance beyond, of course, the traditional role which is attributed to it. The system of characters in the novel is divided into two categories: the war characters and the margin of the war characters. All they are organized around the principal character Yahia who is the story conductor. We will see how every character represents its own socio-poetic status beyond the thematic role played in the novel.

    Cet article cherche à mettre en évidence la véritable fonction du personnage dans le roman Yahia, pas de chance de Nabile Farès au-delà bien sûr du rôle traditionnel qui lui est attribué. Le système des personnages dans ce roman est divisé en deux catégories : ceux de la guerre et ceux en marge de la guerre et gravitant tous autour autour du personnage principal Yahia qui est le conducteur du récit. Nous essayerons de montrer comment chaque personnage représente en fait un statut socio-poétique propre à lui au-delà de son rôle thématique joué dans le roman.
