Resumen de Gap tecnológico de género en turismo rural

El propósito del trabajo es analizar la relación entre las variables género y nuevas tecnologías de la información en el turismo rural. Se aporta nuevo conocimiento sobre esta relación en un entorno poco estudiado como es el turismo rural.
Analizando los datos de una muestra representativa de los establecimientos de turismo rural de la Comunidad Autónoma de Galicia, se concluye que no existen diferencias significativas en el uso de las nuevas tecnologías de la información en función del género, por tanto constatamos la ausencia del denominado gap tecnológico de género en dicho entorno.

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the relationship between gender and new information technologies in rural tourism.
The study provides new knowledge about such a relationship for the hitherto little-studied rural tourism environment. Data are analysed from a representative sample of rural tourism establishments in Galicia (Spain), and the findings suggest that there is no significant gender-specific difference in use of new information technologies. Therefore the paper supports the absence of the so-called technological gender gap in the rural tourism environment.
