Resumen de El claustro y las dependencias de la catedral de Pamplona: espacio y función

Entre las últimas décadas del siglo XIII e inicios del siglo XIV se levantaron el claustro y las dependencias de la catedral de Pamplona que se conservan hoy en día. En este artículo se presenta, en primer lugar, su situación dentro del barrio catedralicio y de la ciudad, para pasar a analizar a continuación las funciones para las que fueron pensados o que adoptaron estos espacios -lugar de habitación para el cabildo regular, lugar de enterramiento, marco para la liturgia, espacio cívico- a través de la documentación conservada en el archivo catedralicio de la ciudad, así como mediante la comparación con otros ejemplos hispanos o europeos.

Between the end of the 13th century and the beginning of the 14th century the cloister and the annexes of the Cathedral of Pamplona, those that still remain nowadays, were built. In this article it is first analyzed the situation of these buildings into the cathedral quarter and into the city. After that, the primary functions these spaces adopted are analyzed �a dwelling place for the regular cathedral chapter, a burial place, a space for liturgy, a civic space, etc. All these aspects are analyzed through the documentation kept in the cathedral archive, as well as by the comparison with other Hispanic or European cases.
