Resumen de Luces y sombras de la reforma de la educación superior

En este artículo se revisan distintos aspectos positivos y negativos de la actual reforma del Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior y, en concreto, acerca del modo como está afectando dicha reforma al diseño de los nuevos planes de estudio. En primer lugar se considera el giro copernicano que supone ubicar al estudiante como centro del proceso educativo, viendo qué consecuencias tiene ese cambio en la medición del tiempo docente y en la redefinición de los estudios en torno al perfil del egresado. A continuación se cuestiona cierto enfoque dominante que tiende a empobrecer la distinción entre enseñanza teórica y práctica. Por último se critica la deriva burocrática que está adoptando la reforma.

This paper reviews various strengths and weaknesses in the current reform of the European Higher Education Area and, in particular, in the way it is redefining university curricula. Two consequences of student-centred learning are observed: first, on the way teaching time is measured; and second, on the redefinition of the studies bearing in mind the desired profile of future graduates. It is then questioned whether the dominant focus on the relationship between theory and practice is impoverishing both concepts. Finally, the author criticises the way this reform is being implemented through an increase in bureaucratic procedures.
