  • The article presents the new Stuttgart Public Library (Stuttgart Stadtbibliothek) opened in October 2011. The project started 14 years ago with an overall planning aimed at updating and improving the whole activity, hand in hand with technological innovation. The new cube-shaped building provides large and bright spaces, and innovative services. Stuttgart Stadtbibliothek is a bridge between traditional and digital knowledge, meets the present information needs and research requirements, provides access to different media, supports lifelong learning, prommotes dialogue between generations and cultures, creates opportunities for meeting and entertainment.
