El propósito fue interpretar los testimonios de estudiantes de Geografía de la UPEL-IPC acerca del trabajo de campo como estrategia de enseñanza y la valoración que asignan a los aprendizajes obtenidos.
Es una Investigación cualitativa interpretativa, que emplea la entrevista en profundidad y se aplica el método comparativo continuo, emergiendo 19 subcategorías; estas se reducen a tres categorías de orden superior, hasta obtener la categoría central. Los hallazgos permiten concluir que las vivencias del trabajo de campo tienen implicaciones pedagógicas al funcionar como una estrategia de enseñanza y de aprendizaje al requerir de un plan de acción conformado por una secuencia de actividades planificadas y comprometidas en torno a un objetivo, favoreciendo un aprendizaje significativo donde se reflejan los cuatro pilares de la Educación: conocer, ser, hacer y convivir.

The purpose was interpret the students� testimony from Geography subject area of the UPEÑ-IPC�. It is about fieldwork as a teaching strategy and the value given to the learning obtained by the students.
Is a qualitative interpretative research, it is used in-depth interviewing technique also the constant comparative method; from its application emerge 19 subcategories, these are reduced to three types of higher order perceptions. Finally, the central category emerges. The research findings indicate that the fieldwork experience has pedagogical implications when used as a strategy for teaching and learning because it requires an action plan, a sequence of activities planned to reach a goal. It is also known, implemented and controlled by the students; thus, stimulating their intrinsic motivation and being favourable to significant learning which reflects the four pillars of education.
