Resumen de ¿Qué Europa?: La recreación del casisismo como utopía necesaria

Entre la esperanza y el escepticismo, el proceso de construcción de Europa se nos sigue mostrando tan actual como, por su destino incierto, acuciante. De las muchas posibilidades que tiene el historiador de abordar el estudio de esta problemática, a la que por sus fuertes implicaciones de toda indole no puede sentirse ajeno, nos decantamos aquí por una hermenáutica del término. Estudiamos , el origen del vocablo Europa, su contenido geográfico, étnico y cultural, así como la evolución del concepto a lo largo del tiempo. Este estudio generativo nos conduce al análisis de la ideologización del término, así como a su vinculación con el clasicismo. Concluye el trabajo reivindicando la necesidad de un reequlibrio del proyecto europeo, aprovechando la fuerza mítica del modelo clásico.

Somewhere between hope and scepticism, the construction of Europe continues to be an inmediate, and becaused its uncertain outcome, pressing process. Considering the implications of the problem, which no historian is able to ignore, it can be studied from a variety of perspectives, and here we have chosen to consider a hermenautical approach to the term. We consider the origins of the word "Europe", its geographic, ethnic and cultural significance, as well as the evolution of the concept itself. This kind of generative approach leads to analyse the ideological implications of the term and its relationship to classicism. The study ends by defining a need to redress the European project, based on the mythical force of the classical model.
