    En la Época Arcaica la Sicilia occidental y centro-occidental presentaba un panorama muy heterogéneo desde un punto de vista étnico y cultural. Un análisis de los varios cultos y de las interacciones entre las diferentes tradiciones religiosas puede ser útil para recuperar la parte más íntima de la identidad cultural de los pueblos indígenas. Es lógico suponer que los Indígenas, sobre todo en la Época Arcaica, tutelaron sus propias tradiciones religiosas ante la amenaza de los colonizadores.

    Hay que explicar, entonces, por qué en algunos yacimientos indígenas se realizó la coexistencia de rasgos religiosos locales y de otro origen.

    During the archaic period west and middle-west sicily presents a very varied situation both from ethnic and cultural points of view. Analyzing the different cults and the interactions between religious traditions of different origins, we could be able to recover the deepest part of the cultural identity of the native populations. Especially in the archaic period, they probably kept alive and preserved their religious traditions against the colonist´s threat. Therefore, we must explain the reason why both local and foreign cultural elements coexisted in some archaeological sites.
