  • Resumen
    • Sustainable development has become used as a master framework for development policies in Bolivia. It also has become a major source of employment for many social science intellectuals. Their activities are set amid the coupling of repressive neo-liberal policies with the progressive pluri-cultural and multi-ethnic reforms (the pluri-multi reforms). Their work is based also on the coupling of academic-applied livelihoods and identities. Shifts in both academic and applied employment are marked by the increase of short-term work contracts, spatial fragmentation, and ideological pressure to produce efficiently managed citizens and environments. These shifts threaten the cultural logics that have been used to justify the role of many social science intellectuals in sustainable development
