    San Cristóbal de La Laguna, �Patrimonio de la Humanidad�.

    La concesión de este título por U.N.E.S.C.O., el 2 de diciembre de 1999, ha influido sobre las actuaciones de sus ciudadanos, propiciando promoción externa y, un comportamiento de los responsables políticoadministrativos claramente diferenciado. En los últimos años la inversión en la ciudad ha sido considerable, el devenir cotidiano nos ha mostrado aciertos y notables desastres. Centrándonos en actuaciones y circunstancias que se relacionan con la presencia de la piedra, tanto en edificios históricos como en entornos urbanos más abiertos, reflexionaremos sobre esta realidad como ciudadana e investigadora.

    San Cristóbal de La Laguna, �World Heritage�. This award, which was granted by the UNESCO on 2nd December 1999, has influenced the activities of its citizens, fostering external promotion as well as a clearly differentiated behaviour of the political and administrative authorities. In the last few years, there has been considerable investment in the city, and day-to-day activities have brought both good decisions and significant failures. Focusing on the actions and circumstances related to the presence of stone both in historic buildings and in more open urban environments, we will reflect on this issue from the point of view of the citizen and the researcher
