El objeto fundamental de este artículo es dar a conocer las características de los arquetipos principales que articulan los spaghetti-westerns o películas del Oeste rodadas en España.
Al mismo tiempo, este trabajo intenta resaltar las nociones básicas que configuran la mitología westeriana sobre la que se han ido modulando los Estados Unidos, y su propuesta de �americanización� del resto de culturas; Veremos cómo este aparataje de distintivos nacionales es exportado con facilidad por una �metrópoli� para su integración en el imaginario de una nación periférica. En este caso el pueblo emisor son los Estados Unidos y el receptor es España que, a su vez, servirá de enlace con el resto de países latinoamericanos dada su afinidad cultural e idiomática.
