    El significado es una propiedad inherente a determinadas unidades lingüísticas, entre ellas: los morfemas, las palabras y las oraciones. Cualquier signo verbal es una señal que representa algún objeto físico o mental. Las palabras surgen de la necesidad que tenemos de referirnos a la realidad y otorgar significado al pensamiento. Con palabras mencionamos objetos y cosas (sustantivos), acciones y procesos (verbos), propiedades (adjetivos) y circunstancias (adverbios). Todas ellas integran el grupo de palabras de significado léxico, a las que se añaden los relacionantes, de significado gramatical, que contribuyen a conformar los enunciados y a establecer conexiones entre sí. El conjunto de palabras constituye el repertorio léxico de la lengua al que recurren los hablantes en cada acto de habla.

    The meaning is an inherent property of certain linguistic units, including: morphemes, words and sentences. Any verbal sign is a signal representing a physical or mental object. The words come from our need to refer to reality and give meaning to the thought. In the words mentioned objects and things (nouns), actions and processes (verbs), properties (adjectives) and circumstances (adverbs). All of them make up the group lexical meaning of words, which are added ties of grammatical meaning, which helps shape the statements and to make connections with each other. The set of words is the lexicon of the language repertoire that speakers rely on each speech act.
