Resumen de Jaime Siles: la formación como principio. La poesía como religión

Con esta semblanza de Jaime Siles pretendemos reflejar su valía científica y su vocación poética. Esos dos son los pilares esenciales que le definen a nuestro juicio: la formación propia y la ajena, por un lado, y la poesía —su práctica y teorización—, por otro. Nos servimos para lo primero del análisis de una de sus obras científicas, cuya reedición actualizada reivindicamos, y para lo segundo de nuestras lecturas de su obra poética, que quieren ser tan sólo —y tan sólo aportan— las emociones que nos suscita.

The parallel in this title aims to reflect Jaime Siles’ foundations in science and his vocation as a poet. Taken together, these two qualities define his life and work: education —both his own and the education of others— on the one hand, and poetry —its practice and its theory— on the other. For the former I shall analyze one of Siles’ scientific works, which I propose should be newly pub-lished and updated. For the latter I shall offer some comments on his poetry, the intention of which is only to express the emotional response his poems elicit in this reader.
