Resumen de El desarrollo urbano-turístico del municipio de Yaiza, Lanzarote: un ejemplo de crecimiento expansivo

  En este artículo se aborda la evolución del espacio turístico del municipio de Yaiza (Lanzarote), caracterizado, en una primera etapa, por un sobredimensionamiento del suelo a urbanizar frente a la construcción real que fue muy lenta. Y desde los años noventa hasta la actualidad, por una segunda fase marcada por la restricción legal del suelo y del número de plazas, en donde el ritmo de construcción ha sido muy rápido, y en ocasiones al margen de la legalidad.

  This article analyzes the evolution of the touristic space of the municipality of Yaiza (Lanzarote) which has been characterized, in the first stage, by an oversizing of the land area to be developed marked by a slow construction pace. From the nineties to the present, a second stage started characterized by the legal restrictions on the land and a limited number of touristic beds. Here, the pace of construction has been fast and sometimes illegal.
