  Death and dead have symbolically, socially and historically been moved away in the �occident., in general, and in �brazil., in particular. The cemeteries as well as its workers have known of the looks the haze and of the sound the silence. Nevertheless, by means of the triad of Eduardo Coutinho.s �filming the relation� technique, Jean Rouch.s cinéma vérité and shared anthropology, the film E a tristeza nem pode pensar em chegar... (And the sadness cannot even think about coming�) shows the representations and the practices that cross the daily life of following farewells in the Cemetery of Itacorubi, in the city of Florianópolis, in the state of Santa Catarina, and glimpses, thus, the death not only as decease, but also as a possibility of life. It is the visual anthropology that (un)veils the relations constructed between to be(ings) and not to be. And, therefore, brings to the light the shadow of the finitude.

  Morte e mortos foram simbólica, social e historicamente aparta-dos no �ocidente., em geral, e no �brasil., em particular. Os cemi-térios, assim como seus trabalhadores, conheceram dos olhares o embotamento e do som, o silêncio. Não obstante, mediante a tríade da técnica de �filmar a relação� de Eduardo Coutinho, do cinéma vérité e da Antropologia compartilhada de Jean Rouch, o filme E a tristeza nem pode pensar em chegar... mostra as represen-tações e as práticas que permeiam o cotidiano de acompanhar despedidas no Cemitério do Itacorubi, na cidade de Florianópolis, no estado de Santa Catarina, e vislumbra, assim, a morte não somente como decesso, mas como possibilidade da vida. É a Antropologia Visual que desvela as relações construídas entre ser(es) e não-ser. E, destarte, traz à luz a sombra da finitude
