Resumen de Educación: importancia de lo público en la equidad e igualdad educacional

En el presente artículo se analizan algunos ejes en torno al concepto de lo público en educación y se discute la importancia de aquello en el ámbito educacional. Luego se desarrollan dos tensiones en educación: la desigualdad educacional y la función del Estado en esa materia. Para desarrollar esas tensiones se discute los supuestos neoliberales sobre el rol del Estado, su responsabilidad en educación y las premisas que tienen sobre la desigualdad, vinculándolo a la segmentación escolar en Chile y a la importancia que tiene el Estado en educación

In this article the core of State Education's concept is analysed and the importance of it in the educational system in general is discussed. Two tensions in within the educational system are then developed: the (in)equality of education and the role of the State in this matter. These tensions are discussed in function of neo-liberals assumptions of the role of the State and its responsibility in the educational system, as well as the premises of inequality, which is then link to the educational segmentation in Chile and its importance that the State has in the educational system
