Los docentes asumen por encargo del Otro social la función de culminar el proceso de integración de los individuos más jóvenes a la cultura.
Este proceso se ve obstaculizado por la transformación de pautas relacionales, la confusión en los roles y por la ausencia del deseo de aprender en los estudiantes.
Frente a ello se instaura el malestar docente, forma indefinida de dolor psíquico que afecta la función laboral. Uno de sus síntomas es la afonía. Desde el psicoanálisis, se trata de pensar una posible hipótesis explicativa de esta situación, con el reconocimiento de que solo la apuesta por la palabra puede generar un cambio en la posición subjetiva del maestro frente a la exigencia cultural

Teachers take on the role of achieving the process of integrating the youngest individuals to culture, entrusted to them by the social Other. This process is hindered by the transformation of relational guidelines, the confusion of roles, and the absence of the wish to learn in the students. Facing this, the teacher uneasiness takes place, an indefinite kind of psychic pain which affects the working role. One of the symptoms is aphonia. This is an attempt to think, from psychoanalysis, of a possible explanatory hypothesis for this situation, acknowledging that only a bet for the word can generate a change in the subjective position of the teacher before the cultural demand
