El triunfo de Felipe V en la batalla de Almansa y la posterior abolición de los Fue- ros desencadenaron una protesta social generalizada, que se tradujo, entre otras manifestacio- nes, en un movimiento de resistencia y de hostigamiento al ejército borbónico protagonizado por los miquelets, tropas voluntarias al servicio del archiduque Carlos. El presente trabajo trata de estudiar el alcance de este fenómeno y sus implicaciones económicas, sociales, polí- ticas y militares.
The victory of Philip the Fifth in the battle of Almansa and the later abolition of statute-laws triggered a general social protest, which resulted, amongst other displays, in a resistance movement and the Bourbon army being harassed by the miquelets, who were vo- lunteer troops in the service of archduke Charles. This work aims to study the scope of this phenomenon and its economic, social and military implications.
