Salvación cristiana en el mundo bantú contemporáneo

    Este artículo recorre sucintamente la historia de la evangelización en África y los procesos de inculturación de la fe actualmente en curso en el continente. Tal recorrido nos revela la necesidad de una figura bantú actualizada delMesías-Antepasado, modelo de plenitud humana para este mundo y paradigma para la salvación escatológica. El recorrido se introduce con un repaso sucinto de la comprensión de la salvación divina en el Antiguo y en el Nuevo Testamento. Sigue luego con un análisis de cómo esa experiencia judeocristiana se presentó el siglo pasado en el mundo africano a través del programa de la «evangelización ». La reflexión continúa con una presentación de la actividad de los movimientos reaccionarios, las Iglesias Independientes de África, ante una evangelización abanderizada, y cierra con algunas propuestas para asumir como auténticamente africano (bantú) la plenitud propuesta por el mesianismo cristiano.

    Todo gira, por lo tanto, en torno a la relación del mundo tradicional bantú con el cristianismo católico y protestante, religiosidad ésta dominante hoy en día en los países de mayoría bantú.

    This article is, on one side, a summary of the history of the evangelization in Africa and, on the other side, a survey of the current activity of inculturation in the continent. Such activity underlines the need of a new understanding of the Bantu Ancestor-Messiah, symbol of earthly human fulfillment and of the eschatological salvation. The article begins with an examination of the concept of salvation in the Old and the New Testament. Then continues with the analysis of how this Judeo-Christian understanding of salvation was presented to the Africans during the past two centuries through the program of the evangelization.

    In this, the African Independent Churches appear to be here a consequence of a rather politicized evangelization and claim for a genuine proposal of Christian salvation among Bantu Africans.

    The article, therefore, deals with the relationship between African traditional religion and the contemporary Christian�s offer of the divine salvation, especially from the Catholicism and the Protestantism which are, at present, the main churches in this Bantu area.
