Resumen de Cárceles en el Partido Judicial de Castuera: antecedentes, contexto y permantencia en el tiempo

  La Prisión del Partido de Castuera, su Depósito municipal, y las cárceles que se habilitaron en los pueblos de su jurisdicción constituyeron un eje fundamental en la estructura represiva construida por los vencedores de la Guerra Civil en la Comarca de La Serena. En paralelo a su funcionamiento actuó con un mayor volumen de prisioneros el Campo de concentración, luego convertido en Prisión Central. Todos fueron espacios distintos de reclusión que funcionaron en pos de un mismo objetivo, la represión socio-política, en base al uso de la violencia, el amedrentamiento y la siembra del terror dentro y fuera del espacio carcelario.

  The Prison of Castuera�s District, its Municipal Deposit, and the jails that were fitted out in the villages belonging to its jurisdiction turned out to be a key element within the repressive structure created by the Civil War�s winners in the Region of La Serena. In line with this development, the Concentration Camp worked with a larger number of prisoners and then it became a Central Prison. They all were different places of imprisonment that worked following the same objective: the socio-political repression, based on the use of violence, intimidation and the spread of fear inside and outside the prison space.
