Resumen de Alteraciones neurobiológicas, cognitivas y emocionales e índices predictivos de la respuesta al tratamiento farmacológico en el trastorno depresivo mayor

  La neurobiología de la depresión ha sugerido que las alteraciones estructurales y funcionales que presentan los pacientes pueden jugar un papel importante en la patogénesis de la depresión y en el mantenimiento de su sintomatología tanto cognitiva como emocional. En la presente revisión, se muestran estudios acerca de las alteraciones funcionales en el TDM y su relación con la sintomatología clínica, cognitiva y emocional, así como de los índices neurobiológicos que ayudan a predecir qué tipo de paciente responderá adecuadamente al tratamiento farmacológico y cuáles son los efectos sobre las anormalidades funcionales. Los hallazgos de los distintos estudios tienen importantes implicaciones no sólo para el manejo clínico de los pacientes sino también para contar con datos preclínicos que ayuden a la recuperación del TDM.

  The neurobiology of depression has suggested that functional alterations of patients can to play important role in the pathogenesis of depression and in maintenance of cognitive and emotional symptoms. In the present review, we present studies it brings over of the functional alterations in the MDD and his relation with the clinical, cognitive and emotional symptoms, as well as of the indexes neurobiological that help to predict what type of patients will respond adequately to the pharmacological treatment and which are the effects on the functional abnormalities.

  The findings have important implications not only for the clinical manage ment of the patients but also to rely on information preclinical that they should help to the recovery of the MDD.
