Las representaciones sobre los indígenas en los libros de texto de Ciencias Sociales en el Perú

En el presente artículo se pretende comparar y analizar las representaciones que se construyen sobre los indígenas peruanos en dos libros de texto de Ciencias Sociales, uno del Ministerio de Educación y otro de la editorial Santillana. El análisis se aborda desde la perspectiva de los Estudios Críticos del Discurso. Los resultados demuestran que, a través de diversas estrategias discursivas, los indígenas peruanos son excluidos en diversas acciones sociales; y, cuando son incluidos, se les atribuyen características negativas y se deslegitima su presencia como actores sociales en el desarrollo del país; además, existen mecanismos didáctico-discursivos que promueven la discriminación y el racismo. Concluimos que, si bien la estructura de los libros de texto es distinta, no existen diferencias significativas entre los dos manuales en la forma de abordar a la población indígena

This article aims to compare and analyze the representations that are built on indigenous Peruvians in two Social Science textbooks published by Ministry of Education and Santillana publishing. The analysis is approached from the perspective of Critical Discourse Studies. The results show that, through various discursive strategies, the indigenous Peruvians are excluded in different social actions, and when they are included, negative characteristics are attributed to them and deligitimatize his presence as social actors in the development of the country. In addition, there are didactic- discursive mechanisms that promote discrimination and racism.
We conclude that, although the structure of textbooks is different, the two manuals do not present significant differences on how to approach the indigenous people
