This article, presenting resulted partial of research, aims at to argue the busy space, the evolution, as well as the internal dynamics of the agrarian economy of Piracicaba into the exporter economy of São Paulo, between centuries XIX and XX. It is based on ample documentary source - quantitative and qualitative - and if it uses of the regressive method, where the analysis of data has left of the period where they are more abundant and go back until the moment where they are scarcer, that is, she enters the first years of the Republic and the end of century XVIII.

Este artigo, apresentando resultados parciais de pesquisa, visa discutir o espaço ocupado, a evolução, bem como a dinâmica interna da economia agrária de Piracicaba no interior da economia agroexportadora de São Paulo, entre os séculos XIX e XX. Está baseado em ampla fonte documental � quantitativa e qualitativa � e se utiliza do método reconstitutivo regressivo, em que a análise de dados parte do período em que eles são mais abundantes e vai regredindo até o momento em que são mais escassos, isto é, entre os primeiros anos da República e o fim do século XVIII.
