Igor Stravinsky fou un dels compositors més cèlebres de la passada centúria, i també, sens dubte, un dels més controvertits. En un cert sentit, les seves opinions sobre la naturalesa de la música i el paper del compositor han arribat a ser tan polèmiques com la sonada estrena de Le sacre du printemps, a París, aquell 29 de maig de 1913. Com que en el fons d’aquesta concepció stravinskiana del compositor intuïm certs punts de llum, el present article vol ser-ne una presentació sintètica. La nostra caracterització apregonarà tostemps en la dimensió artesanal de la composició musical que tan insistentment va reivindicar el músic rus en el transcurs de la vida. Alhora intentarem donar solvència filosòfica al posicionament stravinskià tot posant-lo en relació amb alguns filòsofs i estetes moderns i contemporanis; finalment, recollirem algunes notes crítiques d’un dels seus (intèrprets més crítics) exegetes més punyents, Th. W. Adorno.

Igor Stravinsky was one of the most famous composer of the last century, as well as one of the most controversial. Somehow, his opinions about the nature of music and the role of the composer became as controversial as the much talked premiere of “Le Sacre du Printemps” the 29th May, 1913 in Paris. The following article aims to be a synthetic explanation of the light and deepness we appreciate in the Stravinsky conception. Our research will study in deep the skilled dimension of the musical composition he claimed along all his life.
Furthermore we will give philosophical reliability to Stravinsky’s point of view, at the same time than relating him to some philosophers and modern aesthetes; finally we will compile some critical notes of one of his most demanding performer, Th. W. Adorno.
