    There is, in general, a significant relation between linguistics and psychology. Among the linguistic studies, Cognitive Linguistics has special interest in issues that are more prototypically linked to psychology. On the other hand, among the psychological models, the one that has most strongly influenced Cognitive Linguistics was the Gestalt Theory. This paper aims at making explicit some aspects of this epistemological affiliation, more specifically, the appropriation by Cognitive Linguistics, by means of concepts and notions, of the following Gestalt propositions: (a) perception is basic for other cognitive processes; (b) the parts are not primary to the perception of the whole and (c) perception is governed by the principle of selective attention.     Existe, em geral, uma relação significativa entre linguística e psicologia. Dentre as áreas dos estudos linguísticos, a Linguística Cognitiva tem um envolvimento especial com questões que são mais prototipicamente ligadas à psicologia porque lida direta e sistematicamente com a relação entre linguagem e cognição. Por outro lado, dentre os modelos de estudos psicológicos, o que mais fortemente influenciou a Linguística Cognitiva foi a Teoria da Gestalt. Este ensaio visa a discutir alguns aspectos da afiliação epistemológica da Linguística Cognitiva à Psicologia da Gestalt, mais especificamente, a apropriação pela Linguística Cognitiva, através de conceitos e noções, das seguintes proposições gestaltistas: (a) a percepção é básica para os demais processos cognitivos; (b) as partes não são primárias à percepção do todo e (c) a percepção é regida pelo princípio da atenção seletiva
