    Neste artigo analisaremos os elementos paratextuais, ou seja, as didascálias inseridas por Teresa de Mello Breyner na sua tragédia Osmia, premiada e publicada pela Real Academia de Ciências de Lisboa em 1788.

    Veremos, consequentemente, elementos tão diversos como o cenário, a gestualidade, a movimentação no espaço cénico, e outrossim adereços, vestuário e figurinos. Em nosso entender, as didascálias são significativas da visão teatral de qualquer autor de teatro e constituem indicações significativas para o leitor e para o encenador, pois são passíveis de ajudá-los a imaginar o ambiente da época e o espaço aonde a acção decorrerá.

    In this article we will analyze the �indications� posted by Teresa de Mello Breyner in her tragedy Osmia, awarded and published by the Royal Academy of Sciences of Lisbon in 1788.

    Therefore, we will see elements as varied as the scenery, the gestures, the scenic space, interpretation, and costumes. In our view, this specific indications may suggest the playwright theatrical vision and are meaningful to the reader and the director, because they allow to imagine the atmosphere of the time and the space where the action will take place.
