"Na Terra do Outro": presença e invisibilidade de estudantes africanos no Brasil, hoje

    A diáspora africana vivida por estudantes que se dirigem ao Brasil, originários dos PALOP � Países Africanos de Língua Oficial Portuguesa (Angola, Moçambique, Cabo-Verde, Guiné-Bissau e São Tomé e Príncipe) é o tema em discussão. São jovens que compartilham um processo migratório com finalidade de estudos e formação e que vivem a experiência de estar fora de lugar em um país estrangeiro. Em jogo seus patrimônios sociais e culturais constituídos pela memória familiar e coletiva que toma por base o mundo africano e o contexto migratório. O trabalho fala de jovens universitários que vivem em repúblicas e em moradias estudantis na região de Campinas e em Belo Horizonte e em Fortaleza. Discute-se aqui o que os caracteriza em termos de uma africanidade e de uma negritude construídas a partir de seus deslocamentos e suas histórias particulares que revelam a história mais geral do povo negro, africano e estrangeiro na terra dos outros.

    The African diaspora experienced by students who go to Brazil, coming from the PALOP - Portuguese Speaking African Countries � (Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau and Sao Tome and Principe) is the theme in discussion. They are young people who share this diaspora with the purpose of studying and academic training and besides, they experience feeling themselves "displaced" on a foreign country. At stake, their social and cultural patrimony constituted by family and collective memory, based on the African world and the migratory context. This paper focuses on young University students living in shared apartments and student boards in Campinas, Belo Horizonte, and Fortaleza. The main point in discussion is what characterizes them in terms of an africanity and negritude built with their moving, and their private stories which reveal a more general history of the black, African and foreign people in the �land of others�.
