    Todo estudiante de matemática responde de inmediato las preguntas básicas acerca de pi: el área del círculo, la longitud de la circunferencia, la irracionalidad de pi y sus aproximaciones decimales. Sin embargo, muy pocos de ellos han visto una demostración rigurosa de cualquiera de las respuestas. Este artículo muestra las cuatro respuestas con un lenguaje adaptado a las notaciones modernas, pero respetando el espíri- tu histórico con el cual fueron expuestas por vez primera. Asimismo se da el crédito correspondiente a los matemáticos que las produjeron.

    Every math student knows the basic questions about pi and can answer them inmediately: area of the circle, length of the circumference, pi is irrational and its decimal approximations. However, very few of these students have seen a rigurous proof of the mentioned answers. This article shows the four answers with a language that follows the modern notations, but preserving the historical spirit of their first expositions.

    Also, the authors of the answers are credited.
