Resumen de Afterword: "screening schoolhood"

Jeremy Howard

  • Screening schoolhood attempts to move on both the debate and material covered by the six lead articles in this special issue. It appreciates the ways the articles, and the films they examine, deal with educational issues while at the same time evaluating their range in terms of creative construct and place in the history of documentary film. Considerate of the lead articles probing of their selected films as artefacts ripe for usage as data sources and as analytical frameworks for understanding, this article posits an addendum that develops around the fabricated nature of the films, their coherence as a category, their overlap with fictional films and their potential for formal, semiological and interdisciplinary enquiry
