This article highlights the career of H. Küng as a theologian and philosopher through his conception of Christian life as a form of being in freedom where faith is man's spiritual option. It also mentions his defense of the ethical value of shared existence and the need for a dialog that would make a world of concord and justice possible. Kung's influence within and without the Catholic Church is indisputable, since his objective is to redeem the world of evil that affects mankind
